Description of Role:

The Energy Storage Development Intern will provide strategic support with a focus on utility-scale energy storage project siting and development. The Energy Storage Development Intern will assist with Lightshift Energy’s boots-on-the-ground project development efforts. Key responsibilities for the role include:

 

  • Identifying viable project sites and assisting with land acquisition;

  • Working with team engineers on project scope and site design;

  • Reviewing engineering estimates, scopes, and project schedules;

  • Managing federal, state and local permitting challenges as/when they arise;

  • Working on interconnection requests for the project;

  • Helping prepare for stakeholder meetings throughout the project development process.

 

The Intern may also be requested to assist with general administrative and management support functions to improve operations at Lightshift Energy. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience in energy storage project development and knowledge of the US energy industry.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, energy management, renewable energy or related field from an accredited university;

  • Knowledge and experience in the US energy industry;

  • General understanding of energy storage services and applications;

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.


Location:

Arlington, VA headquarters but may make exceptions for candidates finishing a degree program.

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly compensation provided commensurate with experience; 

  • Possible bonus incentives for successful project work.
