Description of Role:

Lightshift Energy is seeking a highly motivated Origination Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter who is always ready to learn. This internship provides an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly growing energy storage industry at the tip of the spear for strategic decision making. The Origination Intern will support the origination team in identifying, evaluating, and pursuing new project opportunities and enhancing the brand. This role will involve assisting with the development of presentations and proposals, market research, marketing support, customer acquisition strategy, and data management.


Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Origination Support:

    • Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials.

    • Support the origination team in identifying and contacting potential customers and partners.

    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.

    • Assist with CRM data entry and maintenance.

  • Market Research & Analysis:

    • Conduct in-depth research on energy markets, regulatory policies, and competitive landscapes.

    • Analyze market trends, pricing data, and competitor activities to identify potential project opportunities.

    • Assist in the development of market intelligence reports and presentations.

  • Data Management & Reporting:

    • Collect, organize, and analyze proposal-related data.

    • Maintain and update databases and project tracking systems.

    • Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Regulatory Support:

    • Assist in research regarding local, state, and federal energy market regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, policy, environmental science, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in renewable energy, energy storage, and the power industry.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesize information from various sources.

  • Experience with CRM software is a plus.

  • Willingness to assist with various tasks that best support and advance company priorities.


Location:

Arlington, VA, headquarters but may make exceptions for candidates finishing a degree program.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly compensation provided commensurate with experience;

  • Possible bonus incentives for successful project work.
