Rory Jones

Rory has over a decade of energy project financing experience and has managed financings on over 1GW of renewable energy projects across the globe. Rory leads on financial and legal aspects of project development at Lightshift and co-manages corporate strategy for the company. Prior to Lightshift, Rory led utility-scale power project investments in emerging markets at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group.

Notable project achievements included several first-of-kind transactions in various power sub-sectors (e.g. first utility-scale solar projects in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, first merchant solar project in Latin America, leadership on formation and first implementation of the now-global Scaling Solar initiative, etc.). Rory has degrees in economics, finance and energy from Northwestern University (Bachelor) and the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (Master).
